Healer Survey Meme
This is a survey that has been making the rounds on a few WoW sites. A series of questions for healer classes. Enjoy. * What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? * What is your worst habit as a healer? * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? * Haste or Crit and why? * What healing class do you feel you understand least? * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why?

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Zaaephod, Shaman, Resto. * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) Raids, occasional 5 mans. * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Chain heal (duh) Smart jumping, solid healing numbers and crits. * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Healing Wave -- Slow cast time, gets sniped often = wasted mana. The times when it's truly useful are when a tank needs a big heal, but the long cast time causes it to fall short often. Dead tanks don't help. * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? The ability to hit multiple targets in close quarters with chain heal, I can keep up with tons of damage. * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? The lack of any fast, large heals. Riptide is nice, but doesn't do much on a class with a lot of HP, taking huge hits. Once every two minutes I can do an instant chain heal or healing wave, but it feels like an eternity between cooldowns. * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? Raid healing, especially melee classes that will be bunched up. * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Can't answer, never healed on another class. * What is your worst habit as a healer? Getting tunnel vision while staring at the life bars, not realizing I've got the fire / debuff / whatever that I should have been reacting to. Refreshing water shield too often since the patch... it used to lose charges when I'd cast spells, and they changed that now, so I don't need to refresh it nearly as often, but I still do it constantly. * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? #1: People who don't get out of the fire, and just expect to be healed through it. #2: Some warlocks, hunters, and mages seem to think they need to be wayyyyyyyyyyyy over there by themselves, half a mile from the nearest healer. I'm a pretty mobile player, and I chase down people all the time to get within range, but for some reason, these classes die more often because of range issues than anything else. * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? Yes * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? I always try to be doing SOMETHING. If I'm just standing there, I'm not contributing. Spamming heals on a health bar that hasn't gone down in eight minutes doesn't help either. I try to find something to do at all times, even if that means putting up my faildot on a mob, interrupting, dispelling, etc. Being on or near the top of the healing meters is nice once in a while, but I've learned that there are lots of other things I can do, and they all make a difference in the outcome of a fight. This is especially noticable in fights like Faction Champions of TOC. My answer would be "me", and "did we win?". * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That we're a good tank healing class. True, we can do it in some cases, but it's definitely not our best job. All of our larger heals are quite slow to cast. One interrupt on me, or one fire under me and I can lose the tank, just losing those few seconds. By the time I can get heals rolling again, it's too late. * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Probably how to keep heals going while being mobile. All of our heals except riptide have a fairly long cast time, and fights like Hodir remind me of that every time. Having to be constantly moving just to stay alive, all while keeping everyone else alive is quite a feat. * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Hmm. By the wording of this question, it's asking for a shortcoming. I'm not sure how to answer this one. I think (when I'm not lagging) that I do a pretty good job overall. * Haste or Crit and why? Oof .. tough one .. Currently haste, mainly because on 25 man content I can't run out of mana (inc nerf!). Since I rarely go OOM, I've been shifting to haste. Crit was nice before, I felt like it was extra free, mana free healing , but lately I haven't been intentionally stacking crit. * What healing class do you feel you understand least? Pallies. I should really go read about it. I might understand why some of them often have far more overhealing than actual healing done. * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Vuhdo ftw. I used to be a grid fan. I used to be a healbot fan. I've tried everything, and.. well.. Vuhdo ftw. * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? Yes and no. I obviously don't want extremely low mp5, crit, haste, or spellpower, but since I rarely have mana problems on 25 man content, why would I stack more mp5? Currently, I'm 'stacking' haste, but not at the extreme expense of SP or crit.

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Dulnox, druid, resto * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) so far its been raids * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Wild Growth, I just like the way it hits multiple targets. A close runner up is nourish, due to its ability to crit and put a living seed on a target. * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Healing Touch, long ass cast time and seems like an inefficent mana heal when glyphed Nourish on a target with a HoT can do bigger heals.. * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? Good for smoothing out damage over time, fire and forget heals. * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? Nourish is our fastest non-HoT spell. HoTs are good, especially ones like Lifebloom and Rejuv and Wild Growth which are instant, but they won't save anyone who is losing health fast. Druids have a talent that makes any cast less than 10s an instant cast, but its on a 2min cooldown and has to be macro'd to be useful. * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? Raid healing, with off heals on the tank. Or single tank main healing. * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? N/A * What is your worst habit as a healer? Rejuv blankets. * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? DPS standing in the fire when healing is tight on the tank. * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? For the most part. * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? WMO/Recount * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That druid healing is OP. * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Learn to pre-cast the big heals on fights. At least this is what I sturggled with. * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Lots of overhealing, can't turn off HoTs once they're ticking and classes with fast heals will often fill a target before you can get a Nourish off. * Haste or Crit and why? Haste, since a lot of druid heals are HoTs and don't crit. We need haste to speed up our slow(er) non-HoT spells. * What healing class do you feel you understand least? Disc priests. * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? VuhDo, Quartz, Ellipsis. * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? I balance at the moment between spirit and intellect. Int for the mana pool, spirit for the tree form healing boost and mana regen. P.S. Min, where's your post? Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Minoas, Druid, Feral Cat/Resto (healing is my offspec, although I'm pretty well geared now) * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) Heroic 5 mans and 10 man raids. * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Tranquility. I might heavily favor Regrowth and Rejuvenation, but for 'save the raid from wiping', this one is my fav to cast. * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Healing Touch. Way too long a cast time and I'm not talented for it. It only gets cast in combination with Nature's Swiftness, which is a good near-instant giant heal for the tank. * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? Rolling HoTs. Like a fire and forget, or at least a fire and let it do the work while you fix things elsewhere. Its also a fun playstyle, proactive instead of reactive. * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? More difficulty doing big big flash heals, healing AOE, and the difficulties of managing many rolling HoTs on all the raid members. * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? To log off and go do something else. I've pretty much given up on 25 mans, 10 mans are much more fun, and I am geared and talented in ways that work better for 10 toons or so. * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Shamans. Because Zaaephod is too damn good at what he does. * What is your worst habit as a healer? Either rolling Rejuv on everyone when they don't need it, or worse, not rolling rejuv when we do need it. Not managing the diversity of spells I have for efficiency. Also, forgetting to heal myself and getting into trouble. * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? Don't stand in the fire. Oh, and when I'm supposed to brez you, a little hint as to where you left your corpse goes a long way, as I'm usually concentrating on managing lots of HoTs and cooldowns to worry where you've gotten off to. * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? Yes, Druid healers with their HoTs make a nice complement to other more direct and chain heal styles. * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? 1) we lived 2) Recount (and comparison with other healer's data) * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That just because you're health doesn't automatically go to 100% that I'm not healing you. I tend to favor slower ongoing HoTs for most toons, although the tank usually gets more direct heals. * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? The juggling of multiple running HoTs from Rejuv, Regrowth, Lifebloom, Wild Growth, and cooldowns. * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Hard to prevent overheals with Druids. I'd also rather do just enough and be ready for what comes than try and keep everything 100% all the time on everyone. * Haste or Crit and why? Haste. I'd rather have lots of fast cast heals, spamming regrowth, and a low GCD. * What healing class do you feel you understand least? The only other healie class I've tried is Paladin. * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Recount, Decursive, HealBot, and a little chart in front of my monitor with my Healbot key bindings. * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? At this point I just try to optimize via Rawr, with a haste based approach assuming 66% heals over time and 33% flash heals. Edited by Minoas at November 2nd, 2009 - 7:25 pm

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Ramen, Druid, Resto
* What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans)
Raids, sometimes heroics
* What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why?
Rejuvination. In a lot of the raids there is a lot of AoE damage and it's a great spell to keep everybody topped off. It also gives a chance for those "oh shit" moments to use Swiftment (Rogues).
* What healing spell do you use least for your class and why?
Healing Touch. It just has a loooong cast time and I'm not spec'd for it. A glyphed Regrowth or Nourish is better.
* What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why?
HoT's. During the movement style fights it's nice to be able to cast and stack HoT's on people while moving...or spaz jumping because everybody knows...casting while jumping is a power up for that spell!
* What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why?
Big, quick, solid heal. Although Nourish is turning into that..
* In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you?
Raid healer. Keeping everybody up and HoT's on tanks, fun stuff.
* What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why?
I'm not sure really...
* What is your worst habit as a healer?
I still have a bad habit of using Lifebloom like the good ol' days...I miss those days...
* What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing?
Like everybody...fires.....stay..out..of..the..fires..
* Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing?
Sure I guess...Blizz keeps nerfing HoT's and buffing Nourish...so who knows.
* What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer?
I just watch the raid as a whole - like what could I have done to prevent that rogue from getting pwnd' in the face. Sometimes I watch Recount to see how I'm doing / not doing.
* What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class?
Druids are OP and faceroll heals.
* What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Getting used to HoT's.
* If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)?
Recount shouldn't be used to evaluate healing! But, for the question: They would see massive overhealing due to the change in the way HoT's are counted. They should also see I'm not a slack healer.
* Haste or Crit and why?
Haste. Faster everything is win! From what I read..it'll soon effect the time per tick of rejuv's...which is pimp.
* What healing class do you feel you understand least?
Pally's. I really don't know how they work...or do they just push 1 button?
* What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing?
I use Grid, Clique...pretty much it.
* Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why?
Going into hard modes I'm trying to focus more on Int and MP5 without killing my haste or spellpower. Fights are long and crazy!

Re: Healer Survey Meme
Since i am a forum nub and have no idea how to copy or paste the original questions, nor having the patience to retype them .... 1. Xantraa-Healadin 2. Raids 10-25, some group. 3. Fav Spell has to be beacon of light (yes it isn't a heal exactly), its is the closest aproximation to a group heal we have, target one with beacon heal another with a situational heal, 2 for one return on healing. 4. I've gotten outta the habit of spamming Holy Shock when ever it is up ( mana inefficient) 5. Tank healing with big nasty heals, multiple target tank healing with big nasty heals 6. biggest weakness, lack of group heals or HoT's 7. lack of Instant hots or group heals 8. 25 man raids, tank healer, plain and simple 9. Any class that has instant HoT's or group heals (you know who you are) that make mildy geared paladins look like we are over healing masters 10. worst habit as a healer .... Tunnel vision 11. Biggest pet peeve.... People scattered way farther than they need to be from healers 12. class balance ..... no comment, fear of nerf bat 13. biggest misconception ... That paladins are glorified tanks with heals and a buff vendor 14. Learning to use beacon well ( lets see pallys actually retarget/rebuff during a fight! Or maintaining jugdements for haste mana regen, as well as divine plea/racial mana returns 15. Haste or Crit ... This is difficult 40% raid buffed crit is typical, haste if i thinking about myself 16. Priests ... don't understand them very well, specialy disc 17. Add-on's/Macros .... Basically all i use is recount for post raid or encounter self evaluations 18. Stack one skill or Balance stats ... at this point i am striving more for balance Xantraa~

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer?Oxan the bad-ass bull, the 1st; resto shaman to the stars. * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) 25 man raids. * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Chain heal. It's amazingly efficient with the potential of a very high healing throughput. * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Healing wave. Very slow cast time (allows you to recite the entire book of Exodus while casting) and would often result in large % over heals, assuming other healers weren't asleep and cast almost any other heal on your target during your wind up time. * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? AOE heals. Everyone in the entire raid should clump up in big groups and my leet AOE heals would give them warm, fuzzy feelings and joy like they've never experienced before. * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? Healing on-the-run. Extremely hard to do with shamans (insert druids rule comment here). We have one instant heal on a 6 second cool down. And unless I'm permitted to stop running, everyone else must die for the next 6 seconds until the cooldown is up. * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? 1) Raid healing 2) Raid healing 3) Raid healing * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Probably other shamans. Blizzard has decreed that only one earth shield per target can exist and that earth shields cast by other players cancel out yours. Shamans, with whom I frequently heal, automatically respect each others existing earth shield target, and they're fun to heal with. But I've occasionally had new shamans join the group, or perhaps a DPS shaman who temporarily heals as off-spec, who just earth shield whatever they feel like including overwritting existing shields of yours and other players. * What is your worst habit as a healer?
Not purging. I tend to be there to heal, and I find purging an annoyance. You can imagine how I feel when the healers are asked to temporarily DPS in their healer gear (Damn it, Jim! I'm a doctor, not a DPSer). But I realize both are important to certain encounters, so I list them as weaknesses. * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? 1) People who expect you to "stand on circle", but then circle moves around constantly and unnecessarily, so you end up doing lots of running with no time to stand still to actually cast a heal, just because circle has ADHD and forgot to take his medication. Running Gruuls with a previous group was one example of this. 2) Tanks that run in and pull because they're ready, whether the rest of the raid is ready or not. Having experienced this from a healer's perspective, when I'm on my tanking toon, I try to be particularly respectful of making sure healers etc are ready and can keep me in range. * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? When standing still, definitely yes. However, if required to heal on the run, shamans can keep themselves alive. And that's about it. * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer?
1) Effective healing on recount = good 2) Running out of mana on long fights = bad * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That we need to be assigned to a healing target. As shamans don't excel in single target heals relative to almost any other healer class and our strength comes from healing multiple targets, assigning us to a specific target and expecting us to sit there and heal just that target is usually counter productive. * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Getting earth shielding right. Established players learn the protocol of not overwriting existing shields put there by other players with their own, but newer shaman healers seem to be terrible at it. * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Typically very high effective heals, with good to only moderate over heals. I try to crank out large numbers where I can, but actively try to be efficient too. * Haste or Crit and why? Both are plus-healer-throughput stats, and since I'm a very technical player, I stack stats weighted by suggestions from my geek tools. Currently, haste > crit. But then haste can be a mana burner, so it does depend on your level of MP5. * What healing class do you feel you understand least? Paladins. What is this having to cast judgement on an enemy to increase your healing of friendlies? * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Healbot. I have tried other addons, but always come back to HB. I do also macro up my long cooldown buffs and trinkets, and cycle between them. * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why?I'm a very technical player, and generally the right balance between stats for your current gear and spec can be accurately calculated to maximize healer throughput. The "art" more comes from balancing healing vs mana regen. Since the right answer is: "depends on the length of the fight" that's often the hardest balance to get right. You're right on here. This is always interesting because in a normal raid environment, you should be fine on mana. Lose a healer or two, or break the raid into several groups, and you're suddenly staring at an empty mana bar.

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Evanthe, disc priest. To be fair, most days I heal like a warlock. * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) 5 mans, 10 man raids; some 25 raiding * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? I love penance- it's a large, three-tick channeled heal that procs an increase in further healing and a damage reduction on the target, and works with our most efficient heal, which is power word: shield (my other favorite). I am still crying over the last penance nerf. * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why?
Renew- some disc priests talent for it, but I haven't recently, and tend to drop it from my rotation. It's not a great heal without a lot of talent points for us. * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why?
Discipline "heals" largely by preventing damage to players, making them the Cassandra-like healing class. In raids with a lot of big hits, or widespread damage, we can shield players or protect even quite soft tanks. * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why?
We have a limited amount of group-wide reactive heals. I think disc priests also suffer, more than any other healer, from not knowing the encounter. We have to be able to predict when hits are going to happen. * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you?
I pug a lot on this toon, and I find it really depends on the group composition. I am often assigned to tank healing with paladins, which works well; I find that raid healing with shamans, especially, is a good combination. * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why?
I don't really have a problem with any specific class. Other healers who are sloppy can make life stressful. * What is your worst habit as a healer?
Staring at health bars instead of moving out of the fire. * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing?
I don't really have a problem with ranged dps who stay at range, but tanks who constantly make me chase them, well... I also get frustrated when people are misinformed about boss abilities/fights when they show up to raids, which I see a lot in pugs. * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing?
Reasonably so. Disc gets a lot of "readjustment" based on pvp, which is frustrating. DAMN PENANCE NERF! <ahem> * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer?
Mostly, the number of people on the floor when the boss dies. I use recount a bit, but at this time you need a separate addon to estimate damage absorbed. That gets a little dicey at times; depending on the encounter and your healing style, the mod for that was estimating that 30-50% of a lot of disc priest healing was mitigation, rather than reactive healing. If the in-game meter, which is supposed to measure that, goes live, I'll be curious to see how things work out. Generally, I monitor things like my % uptime for my various mitigation buffs and try to keep everyone alive. * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class?
That we cannot raid heal. * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Keeping the damage reduction and + healing buffs up are simple if you shield and penance whenever it's up. It's not hard, but I see a lot of disc priests who don't bubble enough. Also, prayer of mending, every cd. No exceptions. * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)?
I see a lot of RL trying to rank disc healers in pugs based on recount healing numbers, which is just bad... see above. Recount doesn't see a lot of what discipline does well at this time. * Haste or Crit and why? Intellect and spellpower, generally. We get haste procs from casting power word: shield, and tend to have quite high crit from talents... I prefer to gem for int, which I guess would go to further crit. * What healing class do you feel you understand least?
This is my only healer, so the rest of them, really. With the exception of holy priests; Eva sometimes moonlights as holy these days, but I always go back to disc, because I miss it too much. * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Vuhdo, ellipsis (which tracks things like proc timers), poweraura. * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why?
Lately I've been pushing spellpower, as she's been comfortable on haste and crit.

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What healing class do you feel you understand least?
Paladins. What is this having to cast judgement on an enemy to increase your healing of friendlies? ( Oxan) This is a bit of misconception, paladins cast judgement for Haste/Mana regen or providing the raid with AE heals or Mana regen by releasing a judgement. Healadins have a particular talent in their tree that provides substancial Haste when a Judgement is fired off lasting for 1 min. More haste in a round about way does provide more healing by perhaps throwing more heals in an extended fight but doesn't directly increase healing.

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Aeste, Priest, Discipline * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) Raids * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Powerword: Shield, as its the most amazing spell ever * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Probably renew as its worthless * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? Damage reduction and preventive damage, the talents speak for themselves really, * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? People assume Disc is a subpar spec because it's slow on recount * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? Generally MT healing but if you know there's going to a lot of incoming damage (such as Twin Valkyrs), I am a very effect raid healer * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Can't say I hate healing with any class given they are competent * What is your worst habit as a healer? Zoning out (not paying attention) * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? People not avoiding things they should and causes me to have to spam heals on them * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? I would say so, maybe even a little overpowered * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? If we win the encounter, we did our job. Also, WMO/WWS/ect. Anything that actually shows performance (not Recount) * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That they are my #1 healing priority? Idk * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? Mana management * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Via recount? They would think I suck because recount is a terrible way of evaluating my spec * Haste or Crit and why? I like crit, I typically spam flash heal and I get alot of passive haste so it's less valuable to me than haste in alot of ways * What healing class do you feel you understand least? Probably druids * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Oh I use a lot of add-ons, Grid, Forte, Omen, ra2, ect * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? I like to balance out all my stats, I generally gem sp/int, and I try to not dip too low into haste.

Re: Healer Survey Meme
* What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? -Emolicious, Priest, Holy * What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) -Raids * What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? -CoH duh! * What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? -Binding Heal, b/c it's so akward and it takes a while to cast and has no real big benefit that I couldn't get from another spell. * What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? -The ability to be able to do single target healing as well as raid heals acceptabley. * What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? -Personally I don't think there are any major weak spots on Holy Priests, they seem quite well-balanced to me. * In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? -Raid heals, I'm such a meter whore, I love to see those big green numbers light up my screen! * What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? -I've never end game healed with any classes other than a priest. Actually, I've never specc'd into healing for any other classes i've played. * What is your worst habit as a healer? -Healing people even if they're at 90-100% health just because I think they might get hurt while I'm casting a heal so I should be pre-emptive on it. >.< * What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? -When tanks can't hold aggro/tank properly, and it's up to me to keep everyone alive while the DPS are taking hits. * Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? -Yeah, we got the best of both worlds we can raid and single target heal. While there are other classes better suited for single target healing, H Priests can pull off some nice single target heals, especially with Guardian Spirit! * What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? -I like to look @ my total healing done through either WWS-type reports or recount and compare it to my total overhealing done. I aim to be as efficient as possible, but I'm always outdone by shamans and their CH's. * What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? -That I'm going to go OOM fast or that I should have a HUGE mana pool. * What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? -Situational awareness and when to use certain heals. * If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? -Hopefully #1 on the charts hahahaha jk. They would see high healing done with medium overhealing done. * Haste or Crit and why? -Well, Holy priests REALLY need to have a good amount of both. I would say though if I had to choose between the two I would choose crit. There are a lot of things depending on the spec that can proc when certain heals crit, and you can get free flash heals from all crits if u spec for it. And with Serendipity, each time u burn a free flash heal off, you get a big haste bonus to your next GH or PoH with are pretty much the only two spells I use with a cast time besides FH when it isn't a free instant cast. However too much crit will result in mass amounts of overheals. I used to try and stack pure crit and I always had top heals, but I always had top overheals done by FAR. * What healing class do you feel you understand least? -Probably Pallies, there's so many little things they have to watch for where as I only have to check for renew and then look @ people's health and heal away. * What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? -The only add-on that I use that actually has assisted in better heals is my X-Perl raid frames. I LOVE my x-perl raid frames. My friend recently told me about them and it boosted my heals by a lot since I can tell who is within range and by using a defecit health bar I can see exactly who is in more need of heals numerically. And also it shows me buffs/debuffs and how many hots are on a player and if any are mine. * Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? -I try to have a good balance, but I'm Partial to Spirit and Crit. I try not to stack anything too much, but if an item is an upgrade then it's an upgrade no matter what stats it has. As far as gems and such I go for Spellpower/Haste/Spirit for my R/Y/B gems, with all my red slots having pure SP and my yellow/blue slots having SP/Haste or SP/Crit or SP/Spirit.
